Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
 - 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
 - 1 small onion, diced
 - 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken soup)
 - 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
 - ½ cup milk
 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
 - 1 teaspoon paprika
 - Salt and pepper to taste
 - Optional: chopped parsley or green onions for garnish
 
Instructions
- Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish lightly with cooking spray or butter. - Cook the Beef:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with diced onion until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat and season with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. - Prepare the Casserole:
In a large bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Spread half of the cooked ground beef over the potatoes, then pour half of the soup mixture on top. Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, beef, and soup. - Top with Cheese:
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the casserole. - Bake:
Cover with foil and bake for 40–45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes, or until potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden. - Serve:
Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions and serve warm.
