Researchers Reveal Which Blood Group May Have the Lowest Cancer Risk
For years, scientists have explored how genetics influence our risk of developing certain diseases. Now, research is shedding new light on a surprising factor that may play a role in cancer risk: blood type.
What the Research Suggests
According to multiple population-based studies, people with blood type O appear to have a lower overall risk for several types of cancer, particularly cancers of the stomach and pancreas, when compared to individuals with blood types A, B, or AB.
Researchers believe this may be linked to biological differences in how blood group antigens interact with inflammation, immune responses, and certain bacteria known to increase cancer risk.
