This method is:
- Cheap and easy
- Eco-friendly (reuses old newspapers)
- Quick to apply and remove
What You’ll Need
- Several sheets of newspaper
- A spray bottle with water (optional)
- Your car parked overnight
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Clean the Windshield
Make sure the windshield is dry and free of dirt or snow. This helps the newspaper stick better. - Lay the Newspaper Flat
Spread several sheets of newspaper across the windshield, overlapping them so the entire glass surface is covered. - Lightly Dampen (Optional)
Lightly spray the newspaper with water. This helps it stick to the glass and prevents it from blowing away in the wind. Don’t soak it—just a light mist is enough. - Secure the Edges
Tuck the edges of the newspaper under your windshield wipers to hold everything in place. - Leave Overnight
Let the newspaper stay on the windshield overnight while temperatures drop. - Remove in the Morning
Peel off the newspaper in one motion. Any frost or ice should come off with it, leaving your windshield clear or nearly clear. -
